Router Table Mounting Bracket

Project Abstract

The purpose of this project was to design a mounting bracket for a hand-held router so that it could be mounted to a new router table using an existing table top. My role on this project was to provide mechanical engineering input, 3D modelling, and 3D printing for the design. The requirements for the project are listed below.

  • The mounting bracket must accommodate the existing hand router

  • The mounting bracket must attach to the existing router table top

  • The mounting bracket must withstand the maximum torque output of the router

The router mounting bracket was 3D printed with an 80% tri-hexagonal infill and 4mm wall thickness out of PLA.
